The Architect of Greek Electronic Rock
Mihalis Rakintzis is one of the most influential figures in Greek popular music. A composer, singer, and producer who defined the sound of an entire generation — the first artist in Greece to use computers for music composition, merging electronic production with pop rock and Greek musical tradition.
Born in Athens, he studied Mechanical Engineering in the UK before music became his calling. In 1982, he co-founded Scraptown — a rock group that released three albums and scored the European hit 'Viva Sahara.'

"The first artist in Greece to use computers for music. Four decades of reinvention."
His solo career launched in 1986, immediately carving a unique path. From new wave and pop rock to EDM and electronic experimentation, Rakintzis has consistently pushed boundaries — a true pioneer of computer-driven music production in Greece. Collaborations with Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Bonnie Tyler, and Wee Papa Girl Rappers cemented his international reach.
In 2002, he represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest with 'S.A.G.A.P.O.' — an electrifying performance that remains iconic. Beyond performing, he has composed hits for Sophia Arvaniti, Vasilis Karras, Paschalis, Eleni Dimou, and many more.

With over 20 albums, countless hits, and a career spanning four decades, Mihalis Rakintzis stands as a pillar of Greek music — constantly evolving, always ahead of his time.
